New World Radio Group owns radio stations on the east coast of the United States. The company was founded in 1992 with the acquisition of WUST – AM 1120, licensed to Washington, DC. Over the years, as the company grew, other stations were added in Baltimore, Philadelphia and Northern Virginia.

The formats of the stations have always focused on international programming. In Washington, we have two stations—WUST broadcasting in many languages and WCRW broadcasting China Radio International in English. Our station in Philadelphia also carries CRI programming featuring news, current affairs, and features on politics, the economy, culture, science and technology.

WUST gained listeners and popularity because America is a "nation of nations." We are all children of immigrants. This is a common theme heard at ethnic picnics, citizenship ceremonies, school graduations and political rallies. Such phrases illustrate Americas pluralistic heritage and the international mosaic which comprises our national identity. Americans are all connected to the immigrant experience. Our lives are a blend of foreign customs and American folkways.

Today, our stations powerful transmitters cover their entire markets in Washington and Philadelphia with maximum power and maximum penetration. At WCRW in Washington and WNWR in Philadelphia, the stations broadcast at 50,000 watts--the highest power allowed under U.S. law. WUST in Washington our power is 20,000 watts.

New World Radio Group is very proud of its partnership with local and international broadcast partners during the past two decades. We believe the synergies developed by such partnerships benefit all involved as our broadcasts seek to inform constituent listeners and promote understanding and friendship between the people of the world and people in America.
